Cartooning

This course has been written to provide you with an insight into the world of the cartoonist....whether you want to pursue cartooning simply as a hobby or succeed as a professional in an exciting and challenging industry.

It will offer you the chance to develop a full-time or part -time career and will introduce you to some of the pit-falls and short-cuts of the profession. It will take you through the basics of cartoon art to some of the more involved areas such as preparing work for publication, strip-writing and surviving as a freelance.  It looks in detail at preparing a portfolio and provides many useful contact names and addresses.

There are set assignments and helpful hints throughout as well as the opportunity of direct communication with a jobbing cartoonist!

A love of cartooning and its various forms are the only prerequisites as we welcome complete novices or budding Scarfe’s alike!
